Study Therapist Disclosure and Duties

Compass is dedicated to providing the highest quality services possible, and thus highly values routine comprehensive program evaluation. Treatment information (e.g., current symptoms, improvement in symptoms, and progress toward goals) is tracked regularly for every patient at the initial intake appointment, throughout therapy, and upon graduation. As such, all members of Compass' staff routinely track data by:

  1. Administering relevant standardized measures upon intake (assessing the five areas of dysregulation common for the population we see; e.g., emotion dysregulation); and
  2. Obtaining weekly SUDs ratings of emotions and frequencies of target behaviors (e.g., suicidal thoughts, self-harm, substance use).

Our thorough tracking system allows us to maximize the quality of services delivered to every patient by ensuring that desired progress is being made with regard to treatment goals and by problem-solving any plateaus or lack of progress. These data are used to make critical treatment decisions such as when to start the next stage of treatment and/or when to graduate. The program evaluation structure at Compass also helps staff adhere to the evidence-based treatment model by remaining principle-driven in our decision making.
